
Located in eastern part of Ethiopia and covered an area of 887km². More than 300 bird species have been recorded in this park. The major attraction of the park is the two Rift Valley lakes for which it is named, and which together account for more than half of its area. The southern lake Shala is a collection of small volcanic formed island. It has 266m depth. The northern Lake Abiata is home of more than 250,000 flamingos.
