UNESCO World Heritage Sites Tours

Upon arrival meet your guide and transfer to your reserved hotel. Then start city tour in Addis Ababa, by visiting National Museum, Mercato, Holy trinity cathedral and Mount Entoto.

Fly to Bahir Dar. After a lunch boat trip on Lake Tana to visit Ura Kidane Mihret monastery which is dating back to the 14th century.

Excursion to one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Africa, the Blue Nile Falls. Then drive to Gondar.

Today you will visit two UNESCO’s world heritage sites (Gondar 1979 and Simien Mountain National Park 1978). You will visit the 17th-century castles and palaces of Gondar and the fantastically decorated church of Debrebirhan Selassie including the Bath of Emperor Fasiledes. Then drive to Simien Mountain National Park. Walkthrough the park and meet some Endemic mammals and Birds.

Drive to Axum through the spectacular landscape of Simien Mountain chains and Tekeze Gorge. Visit UNESCO’s world heritage site in Axum(1980) which includes the stele or obelisks of Axum, the largest single piece of stone standing anywhere in the world, castles of former monarchs, Mariam Tsion church, built on the site of Ethiopia’s first church and a palace of Queen Sheba, King Ezana’s one of the oldest inscriptions and tomb of King Kaleb and Gabremeskel.

Fly to UNESCO’s site to Lalibela (1978) and you will visit the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, which is divided into two clusters Northwestern and Southeastern Cluster.

After breakfast, you will hike to Ashetene Mountain (7 km per way) to visit one of the oldest monasteries around Lalibela. Afternoon, visit the second Cluster churches and the most famous of all the churches – Bete Giyorgis (which is considered as the eighth wonder of the world). Cooking class at one of the Ethiopian families.

After breakfast drive to Kombolcha through the spectacular landscape of Lasta Mountains.

Drive to Awash and visit one of the largest cattle markets in the country in Bati. On the way you will admire UNESCO’s site of the lower Awash Valley (1980).

After breakfast, game walkthrough Awash National park to meet some endemic mammals and Birds. Then drive to Harar. In the evening visit the Hyena feeding man show.

Visit UNESCO’s World heritage site of Harar Jagol 2006. The visit will include the walled city of Harar, the colorful markets, countless mosques and shrines, and unique Harari people and traditional basket production of the Hadare people, well-decorated houses. Then drive to Dire Dawa to visit the old train station and Kefiras colorful market.

After breakfast fly to Jinka via Addis and visit Ari Village. Ari villages have neat compounds, fertile and scenic land with coffee plantations. Ari have large livestock herds and produce large quantities of honey.

Take excursion tour to Mago National park and visit Mursi village. After lunch drive to Turmi, on the way visit Karo tribes and their unique body painting. Admire the beautiful landscape of lower Omo valley which is registered by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 1980.

Drive to Omorate and visit Dasenech tribes. Late afternoon you will visit Hamer village. Optional attend the Bull Jumping ceremony.

Drive to konso to visit UNESCO’s world heritage site 2011. The Konso are a rich agrarian culture. They construct ingenious terraces and walls that encircle their fields and villages for protection against livestock damage and flooding.

After breakfast drive to Arbaminch. Then Boat ride over Lake Chamo to visit Crocodiles and Hippos. Cross the lake and game walk in Nechisar National park to meet Zebras.

Drive to Dorze village. The Dorze people are famous for their beehive-shaped bamboo houses and products produced from the Enset plant (False Banana Tree). The village located on the top of Mount Chencha. Then drive to Langano.

After breakfast drive back to Addis Abeba. On the way visit UNESCO’s world heritage site Tiya stelae field 1980. Up on arrival in Addis you will have farewell dinner at traditional restaurant with folklorist dance. Then transfer out to Bole international Airport for your international flight.
