The Bale Mountain National Park is situated in the southeastern highlands of Ethiopia. It’s home of the second-highest peak in the country and covers 2,200 square kilometers. The main attraction of the park is the wild alpine scenery, particularly on the 4,000m-high Sanetti Plateau. The park has the highest rate of endemic animal’s species anywhere in the world. The two threatened endemic species- mount Nyala and Ethiopian Wolf – live in eco system. There are also more than 160 indigenous flowering plants.
Up on arrival meet your guide and transfer to your reserved hotel. Then start city tour in Addis Ababa, by visiting National Museum, Mercato, St Geoge church and Mount Entoto.
Drive to Bale mountain national park through the southeast part of the country, where fertile land is cultivated by the Oromo people. Game walk in Dinsho park to meet some endemic mammals and birds.
After breakfast accompanied by your guide, a scout and packhorses we trek 5 hrs through the lush highland vegetation to Moraro Mountain(3750m). The air here is clean and crisp and the scenery utterly
After breakfast we resume trek that will last for approx. 6-7 hrs. The trek offers the chance to see Ethiopia’s endemic Abyssinian Wolf. Overnight camping at the base of Wassema Mountain (3,800 m).
Today we trek through the highlands, crossing Batu mountain on the way to GebreGuracha. Wild flowers abound, the dominant plant being the Helichrysm, or ‘everlasting’ flowers.
Today we’ll hike to the second highest mountain in Ethiopia (Tullu Dimtu (4377m, or 14357ft) which is part of the Sanetti Plateau. Then drive to Bale Robe.
Take an excursion tour to the mystical caves of Sof Omar. After lunch drive to Wendogenet, then leisure time to swim and relax in the thermal spring.
Drive to Awassa and visit the very famous Fish Market where the fishes are sold and cooked in a very traditional way. Then drive back to Addis. Farewell dinner at traditional restaurant with folklorist dance. Then transfer out to Bole international Airport for your international flight.
