Ethiopia is home to a large portion of the Rift Valley which forms the Danakil Depression on the north of the country and then a chain of fantastic lakes that provide the ideal habitat for an exuberant variety of flora and fauna. After crossing the Rift Valley, the South Omo Valley will surprise you with stunning landscape and cultural diversity of more than a dozen tribes sharing the same limited space.
Up on arrival meet your guide and transfer to your reserved hotel. Then start city tour in Addis Ababa, by visiting National Museum, Mercato, St Geoge cathedral church and Mount Entoto.
Drive to Langano via Butajira. On the way visit Melka Kunture Archeological site and Tiya stele which is classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and Adadi Mariam rock-hewn church.
Drive to Abijata-Shalla National Park to visit some Mammals and endemic Birds. Then drive to Arbaminch. Visit Dorze Village and you’ll be guest at one of Ethiopian Family to attend cooking class.
Boat ride over Lake Chamo and meet Crocodiles and Hippos. Then drive to Jinka, on the way visit Ari village. Ari villages have neat compounds, fertile and scenic land with coffee plantations.
After breakfast excursion to Mago National park and visit Mursi village. Afternoon drive to Turmi. Visit a colorful weekly market at Key Afer or Dimeka.
Excursion to Korcho to visit Karo tribes and their unique body painting. After lunch drive to Omorate to visit Dasanach tribes. Late afternoon visit Hammar Village.
Drive to Yabello. On the way visit Erbore tribe and visit the UNESCO world heritage site village in Konso. The Konso are a rich agrarian culture. They construct ingenious terraces and walls that encircle their fields and villages for protection against livestock damage and flooding.
Drive to Saline Creator Lake which is known as Chew Bet (salt house) where the locals extract salt in a very traditional manner. Then drive to Awassa.
Visit Fish Market at Awassa Lake and drive to Addis Abeba. Farewell dinner at traditional restaurant with folklorist dance. Then transfer out to Bole international Airport for your international flight.
