Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa is the world third highest capital city, founded by Emperor Menilik the second in 1886. Menilik chose Entoto as the first capital of his Empire. From Entoto Mountain, the eye wanders over the plain of Finfinni, the region in which the Ethiopian Emperor would later found his definitive capital, Addis Ababa – ‘New Flower’ in Amharic.

Addis Ababa also known as Brussels of Africa is locating in the geographical center of the country. There are more than 120 international missions and Embassies, home of the African Union and The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. The main market-place, known as the Mercato, is the largest open air market-place in Africa.
