The historical route of Northern Classical sightseeing’s, located on the great High land of Ethiopia with its stunning Landscape. Ethiopia is home to the most ancient kingdom in Africa, one of the first monarchies in the world and it is the sole African country to possess and alphabet more than 2,000 years old. By maintaining independence in the face of European colonizers, Ethiopia preserves today its full culture and historical richness. The historical tours include, visit of Bahir Dar, Gondar, Simien Mountain National Park, Axum, the Rock-hewn churches of Tigrai and Lalibela.
Up on arrival meet your guide transfer to your reserved hotel. Then start city tour in Addis Ababa, by visiting National Museum, Mercato, Holy trinity cathedral and Mount Entoto.
Drive to Bahir Dar, on the way visit Debre Libanos monastery. It is a modern cathedral which is founded by St. Tekle Haymanot in 14th C. Then proceed to Blue Nile gorge (one of the most significant geographical land mark).
Excursion to one of the spectacular waters falls in Africa, the Blue Nile Falls. Afternoon boat ride over Lake Tana and visit Ura Kidane Mihret monastery which is dating back to 14th C.
Drive to Gondar and visit the 17th century castles and palaces. You’ll also visit the fantastically decorated church of Debrebirhan Selasse and Bath of Emperor Fasiledes
After breakfast drive to Simien Mountain National Park and take a walk to see some endemic mammals and indigenous plants.
Drive to Axum through the spectacular landscape of Simien Mountain chains and Tekeze gorge.
Visit the stele or obelisks of Axum, the largest single piece of stone standing anywhere in the world, castles of former monarchs, Mariam Tsion church, built on the site of Ethiopia’s first church and a palace of Queen Sheba, King Ezana’s inscriptions and tomb of King Kaleb and Gabremeskel.
Drive to Hawzien. On the way visit the 6th C BC temple of YEHA, and the oldest Monastery of Debredamo, where you climb up with the help of 16 meters rope (Women are not allowed to visit the monastery).
Drive to Mekelle, on the way visit the rock -hewn churches of Tigrai, Mariam Korkor and the 4th C church of Abereha and Weatsebeha.
Drive to Lalibela through the magnificent landscape of Tigrai and Lasta Mountains. On the way visit one of the typical villages of Amhara.
Visit the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, which is divided in to two clusters Northwestern and Southeastern Cluster. Finally, you will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bete Giyorgis (which is considered as the eighth wonder of the world).
Drive to Kombolcha on the way visit the cave church of Na’akuto La’ab.
Excursion to Bati to visit the colorful and weekly market, where you will find country’s largest cattle market.
Drive back to Addis Ababa. Farewell dinner at traditional restaurant with folklorist dance. Then transfer out to Bole international Airport for your international flight.
